# Canbus communication to computer through usb

Can we connect our computer directly to the amiga farmng through usb without a microcontroller and send and read messages through canbus to the motors.

Hi @BetiGohain,

Technically, yes. To read the messages, you can use a serial cable and a serial to DB9 adapter, then use a library like CANio to write your custom client.

That said, I’d like to know more about your project to understand the best way to help you. It feels like going in that direction would be not much different from putting together a whole custom machine, which I believe defeats the purpose of using a platform like ours.
