How to take a wheel out of the amiga

One of a tire of the amiga got displaced when turning, and some objects got inside of the wheel. So, I would like to take the wheel out and put it back on the right place. But, I am not sure how to dismantle the fork. Especially, I am not sure what to do with the cable connected to the mortar. (this topic is also sent thorugh an email, but I think this is general enough to share. So, I am posting here as well).

hey Kodai,

Here are some instructions:

  • Start by using a Phillips screwdriver to unlock and remove the side panel sliding it up:

  • Now locate the motor plug and pull it apart:

To inflate the tire back in the bead, it is as tricky as doing it to a tubeless tire in a car. If you don’t have the tools for it, I would recommend bringing it to a tire shop and they can do it in 5 min. Inflate to 33 psi.

Thank you for the instructions.

Can you upload images again? I can’t see them for some reasons

here they are, in a different way:

Thanks for the images. I have gotten some help from mechanical engineers at my school. I would like to ask some clarifications to get this done so they can work.

  1. When taking the tire out of the fork, can we just take it out like a normal vehicle or bike? So far, my understanding is that, first, you untighten the 2 bolts located at the right and left side of the fork(one is shown in the image within the blue circle). Then, you can take the tire out. I was noted that since the motor is within the wheel, there might be something special about taking it out.

  2. When you put the tire on, do you use tire levers (and silicon spray if needed)?

  3. the torque to tighten the bolts is still 31 n.m, isn’t it?

Hey Kodai… I did answer on the email, but posting here for future reference as well:

  1. The nuts are right. Raise the machine with a jack, lose the nuts, and the tire will slide down. No need to take the tire out of the rim… based in my experience, most of the time the tire lost air because lateral forces popped out of the bead. Inflating it again should work. Case is punctured, you can:
1.1: use a lever to put it off the rim and fix it. Tip: getting it warm in the sun usually helps, or
1.2: add a tube to it.
  2. Yes. See the sun tip above.
  3. We use 80 ft.Lb.

Thanks! we fixed it this morning! We used this method. ADD AIR to tubeless tire WITH THIS EASY TRICK! Flat tire on moving dolly. - YouTube
