MoDOT RTN (VRS-based) in Missouri — RTK Not Working, relposned Unavailable, AutoPlot Unusable

I’m currently using the Amiga system in Missouri (USA) and trying to connect it to the MoDOT Real-Time Network (RTN) — the official RTK service available in our region. However, I’m encountering an issue where RTK corrections are not being received, and therefore relposned data is unavailable. This also means that AutoPlot cannot be used at all in my setup.

Here’s what I’ve confirmed so far:

  • I’ve correctly entered the NTRIP credentials into the Amiga UI (server, port, mountpoint, username, password).
  • The NTRIP service does connect, but I receive the following error:

GPS error: You are not receiving RTK corrections. Please check the Amiga service. Ensure your NTRIP settings are correct.

I’ve done some research and also found this previous forum post describing a similar issue. Like that user, MoDOT RTN uses VRS formats, which do not provide a fixed mountpoint with a static reference location. These corrections are generated virtually based on the rover’s location.

This leads me to believe the issue may be related to the current lack of VRS support in the GPS relposned service on Amiga. The documentation also mentions:

“If your service provider issues RTK corrections with respect to a VRS (Virtual Reference Station), your relposned coordinates will experience a significant offset after every reboot.”

That seems to match my experience.

My questions:

  1. Has there been any recent update or workaround to make Amiga compatible with VRS-based RTK services?
  2. Is there any way to enable AutoPlot, even partially, using PVT-only data if relposned is unavailable?
  3. Are there plans to support VRS/FKP/MAC-based RTK services in future AmigaOS releases?
  4. Alternatively, are there any debugging or override options I can explore to get AutoPlot working in this setup?

Final Note

I fully understand that relposned requires a stable, known base station. But in my case, setting up a private base station is not practical. The MoDOT RTN is the only RTK correction service available to me here in Missouri, and like many institutional users, I rely on VRS-based services.

I don’t mind giving up relative positioning or other features — but I’d really like to find any way to still use AutoPlot, even with reduced precision or features. It’s an important tool in my workflow, and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, workarounds, or development timelines that could help me move forward.

Thanks for your time.

Hey Tianqi,

Not on the implementation of AUTOPLOT you have, unfortunately. With the efforts on the new release (announced last week), we were not able to implement that functionality. the good news is that the new release do record tracks on lat/lon format, which means that VRS base stations are fully supported (and paths are more user friendly).

My question to you would be: are you using any custom software or using the SDK in any capacity now?

My question is because we do not release the docs and examples on how to do custom software, and we are expecting it to take about a month. Until there, only the UI-oriented work is advised.

btw, if you want to use the new Job Manager app (the equivalent to Autoplot) please send me a message at support@farm-ng.com

Thank you very much for the detailed update and support! I am glad to hear that VRS is now supported, and I look forward to the full release of SDK support. Thank you again for your help!

Best regards,
Tianqi
